About Me

Hi! I’m Deanna.

Like most people, I have several “identities” that make up who I am.

On the professional side, I’m a freelance writer who has penned articles on a variety of topics to meet clients’ needs, and have helped others with research for their own writing. It’s incredibly interesting to check into new ideas, restaurants, products, and more; the task feeds into my desire to always be learning something new and trying out different things.

My personal life is…well, how to describe… full.

I’m a wife of over twenty years, mother to two wonderful daughters, and grandmother of three absolutely beautiful grandchildren. I’m also a pet-parent to three energetic fur-babies who I try not to spoil too much (though that hasn’t stopped my family from doing so). Our house may be chaotic with everyone here, but at least it’s fun, and full of love and laughs.

I’ve blogged on-and-off for several years, working on a couple of different ventures that, in the end, ran their courses. It was a blast to work on them, and a bit sad to let them go, but sometimes, letting go is for the best.

Even though my time is generally spent either writing or taking care of my family, I do try to indulge in a few hobbies: reading (mostly), cooking and baking (my chocolate chip cookies are considered “addictive” by a number of my daughters’ friends and others), a fair bit of DIY (hey, someone has to keep the duct tape industry afloat), and gardening (though my compost pile does a better job at growing things than my vegetable beds do).

Now that you know a little bit about me, you’ll know what you can expect to find in my blog – stories about all the things I love — food, family, gardening and more. And if you’re looking for HGTV or Food Network you won’t find it here because like most of us, all the recipes, projects and hobbies I take on are far from perfect but they’re always pretty fun! Or at least funny.
